ASQ Executive Director Receives CESSE Leadership Award

Milwaukee, Wis., July 21, 2008—Paul Borawski, American Society for Quality (ASQ) executive director and chief strategic officer, was recently awarded the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE) Leadership Award. The award was presented at the CESSE Annual Meeting in Detroit, July 15-18.

Borawski received the award for distinguished excellence in the management of scientific and/or engineering societies, and for outstanding contributions to CESSE. His contributions include a new initiative to assist CESSE organizations in improving their level of membership satisfaction. This was done through a survey to measure and benchmark the member satisfaction of the organizations.

“CESSE is thrilled to present this leadership award to Paul Borawski for his continuous insightful contributions to our organization,” said Steve Nelson, CESSE awards chair. “It has been eight years since CESSE has presented this award as it is a rare occasion to find someone so deserving.”

Borawski has been a member of CESSE for 20 years, and has served on the CESSE board of directors. He held the offices of secretary, vice president, and in 1999-2000 served CESSE as president.
