Former ASQ Board Member William M. Harral Dies
January 30, 2006 — William M. Harral, a former ASQ board member, passed away last week at the age of 63. Harral became an ASQ member in 1982 and quickly rose to the ranks of Senior (1987) and then Fellow (1992). Harral held several ASQ certifications: quality engineer, reliability engineer, quality auditor, and manager.
A very active member in the Greater Detroit Section, Harral was also involved with the Reliability, Audit, and Automotive Divisions. Between 1988-2001, Harral received six Craig Awards, presented by the ASQ Automotive Division for, “the best technical/management papers relating to quality and reliability, written by the Automotive Division members.” A visitation was held January 27, in Harral’s hometown, Northville, MI.
