The Operational Performance Information System (OPIS) website is a way for manufacturers to share what OPIS calls "lessons learned." After completing the free registration, users may view other lessons learned and post their own. Topics include employee safety, environmental protection, regulatory compliance, productivity and customer relations. OPIS is noticeably more organized than most online forums. Each posting is edited to be complete, concise and follow the same basic structure. The site also allows registered users to keep track of their most recently viewed postings and maintain a personal mailbox.
